Erin Titus is a Florida based artist who explores domestic spaces as an extension of the individual. Cocooning memories, possessions, and practical rituals of everyday life, the home’s shelter is a catalyst for individual growth. Influenced by hereditary memory loss, repeated patterns, and the familial Florida home, Titus incorporates small scale and packed compositions that echo the nostalgia of a keepsake. Ordinary objects collected from habit engorge space and create tension both picturesque and deteriorating. The juxtaposition of collected memories in an unfamiliar space construct and tear down associations that create intimacy. Resolution follows as if walking through the home for the first time.
Titus graduated from the University of South Florida with a BFA in Studio Art and currently lives in Tampa.
